According to the U.S. Bureau of Labor and Statistics, over 26 million Americans (8.8%) regularly engage in running for their preferred choice of exercise. This course will focus on the key training concepts that drive a runner’s performance. Beyond analyzing the factors that can affect a runner, this course will dig into the exercise science behind running and will highlight different training models, including the Central Governor Model and the Traditional Performance Training Progression Model.
