Workshops
Running Techniques of Today:
Running
isn't just a matter of throwing on some sneakers and hitting
the streets. Learn about important issues like safety,
form, injury and other issues any frequent runner should
know. This course will give you the essential knowledge
on setting up beginner to advanced running programs, as
well as cover basic shoe and attire requirements. 3 HOURS
IN LENGTH
C.I.A. (Circuit Interval Aerobics):
An
intense workout you can keep low or take to the limit.
CIA is a combination of circuit training and interval
training designed to increase strength, reduce body fat
and increase aerobic fitness endurance. A terific change
from traditional aerobics. 2 HOURS IN LENGTH
Step Up To Step:
A
must for the beginner to learn all the basics of teaching
step aerobics. Students will learn and understand the
unique terminology, body mechanics and correct posture
of stepping. They will learn about safety guidelines and
how to choreograph safe and effective step routines. This
class is a stepping stone for taking ADVANCED master workshops!
3 HOURS IN LENGTH
Cardio Kids:
Interested
in teaching fitness to children? Or maybe you're concerned
about improving your own child's fitness? Cardio-Kids
will demonstrate proven (and FUN!) ways to get kids interested
in exercise. 2 HOURS IN LENGTH
Cardio - Boxx:
It's
a knockout! The newest "rage" in fitness. It's an intense
self-defense hi/lo physical workout with cardiovascular
training and upper body strenghtening and conditioning.
2 HOURS IN LENGTH
Functional Flexibility: 3 CEC's
is
a crucial component of everyone's health. Special emphasis
on sport types of stretching as well as recreational
fitness. This workshop will teach you how to stretch
all major muscle groups for increased flexibility and
range of motion for the advanced client and or problem
client in need of such approaches as partner stretches,
PNF stretches and stability ball usage.
Advanced weight training
techniques: 3 CEC's
Finally
a workshop to help you expand your strength training skills.
This 3 hour dynamic workshop will give you both theory
and practical information to design safe and effective
strength exercises. The variety in movement patterns will
challenge and enhance your clients neuromuscular developmental
patterns of the upper and lower body. A must for the serious
personal trainer looking to take in the next step with
advanced clients and athletes. 3 HOURS IN LENGTH.

Credits
Remember
as a graduate of W.I.T.S. you are
required to complete 10 hours of study within a 2 year
period to maintain your status as a W.I.T.S.
certified professional. W.I.T.S. requires at
least half of those CEC's to be of a lecture or research
based experience. Practical workshops are accepted for
the remaining amount of hours.
* ALL of the above programs have Continuing
Education Credits for W.I.T.S. The organizations
listed below offer credits for W.I.T.S. courses;
- American Fitness & Aerobic Association
- American College of Sports Medicine
- Students from other organizations have
applied in advance for a waiver and were granted
CEC's for the above listed programs. Please call
your certification group to get the appropriate
